As the content of this wiki demonstrates, a great deal is happening in arts&culture in Waterloo Region. The Waterloo Regional Arts Council has been involved in many of the initiatives covered here. Almost every one of the these developments touches on the purpose and future of WRAC in some way, especially the Prosperity Council's resolve to "create and fund a regional arts and culture development and promotion body."

While it has had enormous impact despite its slim resources, there is a widely shared and growing sense that it is time for WRAC to be transformed into a fully developed agency for change in regional arts community.

A New Agency for the Arts is a discussion paper prepared by WRAC board members and supporters that is designed to serve as a starting point for imagining what a "WRAC reconstituted" or a new agency to replace WRAC might look like.
